In 2005, Greg wrote his first play Scumbag, influenced by Steven Berkoff's East. It told the story of three young lads stuck in a local tavern reminiscing about the future they would never have. It was staged for one night at the Polish Club in Bristol to a small but welcoming audience. This production would later be revived and staged again to open the Wardrobe Theatre above the White Bear pub in Cotham, Bristol.
Following Scumbag, came Penny In The Well, a dark comedy about the existential crises of a group of clowns performing for eternity in limbo, asking the audience "will we ever get there?". It returned to the Polish Club for two nights.

In 2011 the script for Left, After Orbit was written and the journey of one night stands were over. The company, then called Little Axe, advanced their productions with a run at the Tobacco Factory Theatre in their Brewery Studio to a sell out crowd, directed by Bristol based actor and director Dannan McAleer.
In 2012 Greg wrote BENCH, a series of short interludes woven together to mimic an ordinary set of relationships inhabiting a park bench over a short period of time. This commissioned by MAYK and was given the green light to feature as part of Mayfest's Off The Peg Season. BENCH gave a number of opportunities for local Bristol based actors to showcase their skills in a three night run at the Wardrobe Theatre, above the White Bear Pub, Bristol.

In 2012 Greg wrote and performed his first solo show Guttermouth. Written in contemporary verse, combined with physical theatre and an original soundtrack, this production was first performed at the Wardrobe Theatre Bristol and then went on to tour a number of venues such as Bath Theatre Royal's Ustinov Studio, Plymouth Barbican, the Lost Theatre Wandsworth, the Lakeside Studio Colchester and finally Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014.

Guttermouth marked the first venture in outside collaboration with newly composed music by Brighton based musician J-Felix and directed by the Royal and Derngate's artistic director Jesse Jones.

In 2016, came Shewring's Poll Function. Winner of the Pleasance Indie award for Best Theatre Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017. Under the company name of Hail to the People, Poll Function went on to excite audiences at venues such as Bristol Old Vic, the Wardrobe Theatre, the Alma Tavern Theatre, Pleasance Theatre Islington, the New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich.
A dirty, gritty insight into the lives of two suburban dropouts who wreak havoc on a town they once called home.

"Shewring’s writing style is refreshingly blunt...A smart and engaging slice of new writing from this newly formed collective who’ll surely be back for more. - B24/7
"Shewring has created a tender portrayal of young male friendship that has the maturity and insight to bother representing those often ignored and making their views valid, their humour funny and their lives matter." - Exeunt Magazine 2016
After a successful run at the Tobacco Factory, Left, After Orbit was then staged again at the Wardrobe Theatre for their second season above the White Bear Pub.
